In the September 2022 Annual Membership meeting, members voted to simplify our “casual” name (not necessarily including the word “Homesteaders” in all our messaging). The Wintergreen Mountain Association (WMA), was founded in 1991 as “Wintergreen Mountain Homesteaders Association” (MHA) and is a community organization composed of Wintergreen Mountain property owners living full or part-time on the Wintergreen Mountain. One park offers a gentler ride, while the other offers hair-raising runs reaching 25-40 miles per hour.Welcome to Wintergreen Mountain Association Wintergreen also has two tubing parks, including Virginia’s largest. 100% of Wintergreen’s terrain is covered by fully automated snowmaking, which can cover the equivalent of a football field with 37 feet of snow in just 24 hours. Wintergreen has also continually updated its state-of-the-art computerized snowmaking system. In recent years Wintergreen has invested millions of dollars in capital improvements, including the installation of two six-passenger, high-speed lifts. Wide-open beginner terrain is plentiful, along with plenty of steeps to keep the experts happy. The resort offers 24 slopes and trails with a respectable vertical of 1,000 feet. Wintergreen Mountain peaks at 4,000 feet, bringing cool summer temperatures and helping to attract and keep snow during the winter months. Wintergreen is also a bona fide year-round resort - offering golf, tennis, a spa, swimming, and many other activities. Wintergreen Resort offers great views from its great location in the heart of the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains.
